At Gem Occasions we care about the environment, and we do everything we can to be a 'green' company. Here are some of the things we do to help...

We work from our studio at home, so we're not keeping a separate building heated etc. and we don't need to use the car to get to work!

We jot our notes on used paper, always make sure we print on both sides of the paper where possible, and recycle as much as we can.

Were possible we send wording proofs via email, rather than post.

The metallic effect boards which form the basis of most of our designs are FSC certified, which means the forests are managed in an environmentally appropriate way. They're also made with mineral pigments with no heavy metals, which means they are recyclable.
If you would like us to make your stationery from partially or fully recycled boards, we can! Please contact us for details.

We keep all the packaging our stock is delivered in, and reuse the boxes, bubble wrap, tissue paper and any other materials we can to pack your order securely. If your order is to be posted out we may wrap your stationery with plastic carrier bags (reused of course!) to protect from damp - which we encourage you to reuse or recycle at your local supermarket.

We know some other stationery companies wrap their orders with fancy ribbons, branded boxes and papers, confetti and so on. Nice as it looks, it's not exactly environmentally friendly is it? And it adds unnecessary cost to the customer. We believe it's what is on the inside that's important, and although our packaging is unimpressive, we're sure you'll be more than delighted with the stationery you find inside!
