Gem Occasions was established by me, Gemma, in 2004.

I have almost 10 years of experience within the hospitality trade - having worked in bars, restaurants, a hotel, and for a short time with a local catering and events organisation firm. I have worked at, and been involved in the organisation of many events, from Weddings and Christenings, to Corporate Dinners and Caberet Evenings.

I was the in house stationer and the Bridal Fayre organiser for the Beaufort Hotel, Burscough, for over 2 years, until the hotel closed in 2009.

I come from a particularly creative family, and the creative gene has obviously been passed down from generation to generation! We have always been encouraged to have a go at anything, from DIY to crafts - my Nan sews, my Grandad created marvelous things from wood, and my Mum, also a keen sewer, has recently started her own business 'Peppermint Fizz', where she creates fabulous and unique bags and accessories. (She also bakes the most delicious cakes!!).

I love to experiment and try new crafts, and my hobbies include drawing, photography, and sewing.
